本課程針對幾個地震學上的重要議題，介紹其基礎知識以及目前科學上的主流思考，修課學生需配合課程內容，查閱科學期刊或文章報導，授課時將以與學生討論的互動方式，引導學生思考各個主題的物理模式。
This course sets off from a few topics in seismology, which contain the basic concepts and up-to-date models revealed by the general textbook as well as the recent scientific journals. Students will be asked to survey by themselves to dig into the related papers and urged to express their understandings in the related topics at class.
